Policy For Meter Testing

This policy covers the testing of EUB electric, gas, and water meters.

  1. EUB may at times replace, inspect, or perform periodic tests of its meters in order to maintain a high standard of accuracy.
  2. At the request of the customer, EUB will make additional tests or inspections of its meters to check for accuracy.
  3. If tests made at the customer’s request show that the meter is accurate within commercially accepted tolerances, no adjustment will be made to the customer’s bill and a testing fee of $30.00 per meter plus applicable shipping charges will be charged to the customer. A meter will be considered to be within commercial tolerances if the test shows that it is accurate within +/- 2%.
  4. If tests made at the customer’s request show that the accuracy of the meter falls outside of the commercially accepted tolerances, an adjustment shall be made to the customer’s bill over a period of not more than thirty (30) days prior to the date of the test. There will be no testing fee charged to the customer in this situation.
